Who we are

The WSFCTT is a registered charitable trust set up to fund, develop and run a land-based agricultural training program. The trust was established by a group of local industry leaders who could see the rural sector needed more people trained and up skilled in agriculture business management.

Waipaoa Station is one of the East Coast's established hill country properties once being 33,000 acres in size. Over the years Waipaoa's out lying blocks were slowly sold but the history of this great dynasty still remains in the photos and stories from old shepherds who visit the property from time to time. The 1800 hectares of rolling to steep hill country that is Waipaoa today, sustains 16,000 stock units and provides an excellent base for agricultural training.

At the rear of the station is the base for the cadets. A 13 room Lockwood quarters with adjoining cookhouse, lounge and lecture room that once housed many a weary shepherd and which is now alive again with the vibrancy of 10 young charges eager to learn.
